Leobersdorfer Maschinenfabrik (LMF) is a leading manufacturer of innovative high-pressure compressors.

Located in South Vienna, the company boasts a tradition spanning over 175 years. Its history intertwines with pioneering engineers of their time, such as Rudolf Diesel, who developed diesel engines for LMF, and Viktor Kaplan, inventor of the Kaplan turbine. Their work laid the foundation for the company’s future technological excellence.

The production of reciprocating compressors began at the turn of the 20th century, and since then, LMF has remained at the forefront of innovation, launching several breakthrough products and setting new standards across various industries.

In 2016, LMF joined forces with Kaishan Group, China’s largest screw compressor manufacturer. This move bolstered the company’s global position and enhanced its operational capabilities. Today, LMF exports over 95% of its production worldwide for a wide range of applications.
