Sustainability – at the core of Banmark’s strategy

Sustainable development is one of Banmark’s strategic focus areas. Sustainability is embedded in our quality management system and is a natural part of our processes. We aim to support the goals of our industrial customers by offering expertise and solutions that promote sustainable development. Our ethical principles and sustainability targets apply to all Banmark Group companies. We also expect our partners to comply with our Code of Conduct.

For us, sustainability means sustainable solutions, profitable growth and fostering partnerships. We have chosen the following four UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as our framework.

Safe and Healthy Working Conditions

Banmark Group companies operate closely with customers across various industries and working environments. We are committed to ensuring a safe and healthy workplace for all our employees. Due to the nature of our operations, important focus areas include chemical legislation compliance, product safety and competencies. Preventive actions such as risk identification and support for employee wellbeing and training are central to our operations.

Sustainable Innovations

As part of our strategy, we aim for profitable, sustainable growth and internationalization. We provide innovative solutions and products that help industrial customers conserve natural resources and enhance production efficiency. We support the green transition in society with our comprehensive product portfolio. We can make an impact in every country where the Banmark Group operates.

Responsible Supply Chain

We strive for sustainable partnerships with our customers, suppliers and all other stakeholders. As a partner, we acknowledge our role within the supply chain and continuously work to develop both our own and our suppliers’ sustainability practices. Respecting our customers’ sustainability goals, we expect also our partners to follow our Code of Conduct and actively monitor the development of sustainability in the supply chain.

Climate Action

Banmark Group aims to actively reduce emissions of our premises, transport, and mobility — and compensate remaining emissions by 2035. In addition to organizational emissions, we actively develop carbon footprint accounting to support our customers’ sustainability efforts. This enhances our industrial customers’ ability to improve their operations and contribute to a low-emission society. We continuously develop solutions that enable our customers to save energy and natural resources.

Our parent company, Transmeri Group, is a member of UN Global Compact Finland. As part of the Group, Banmark Oy Ab is committed to promoting the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. This commitment and membership apply to the entire Group and all its subsidiaries.

The UN Global Compact is the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative. It aims to accelerate global business actions toward sustainable development and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
